The piece worn. Three-quarter, standing. Hard raking key from the left, long shadow. Crimson ground. No face, no hands above the wrist.
The mark, on the cloth, at working distance. Raking light so the relief reads by sheen. Tone on tone — the mark must disappear in colour and appear only in light.
The construction decision — hem, cuff, waistband or slit. Square to the seam. Same key.
